2026 Family Rules
Greetings 2026 Family!
I first want to thank you for signing up for the upcoming season. None of this works without your support. Our opening night is September 5th. We will be open the first 3 Saturdays in September then Friday and Saturday night through 10/31. We are open 8pm-Midnight. You mist be in costume and ready by the 7:30 safety meeting. Most nights we call the night around 11:30 if there are no more attendees. Paid positions will be $50 paid in cash at the end of the night. This season we will have a set number of paid positions and additional volunteer positions. Each night/weekend will have its own count and I will adjust according to attendance. Next weekend I will send out the counts for every weekend based on attendance from last year. After each weekend I will send out open positions for the remaining weeks. I encourage you to reach out to friends if you see positions open. Feel free to forward the email and have them reach out. They will need to sign up on the website so we can do our checks on our end. Last year we were calling each week, we will not be doing that this year. Once I send out the counts, please reply back with what dates you will work. This will be first come first serve for all positions. When you send the dates please indicate whether you are filling a paid or volunteer position. We will keep that roster and sign off when you arrive to track who attended each night. These positions are considered independent contractors. The total amount possible to earn does not meet the threshold for 1099 reporting. We will not be issuing 1099s, reporting the income for taxes is your responsibility. Additionally these positions do not apply to employment laws or workers compensation for injuries. If you are 16 or 17 you must have a responsible adult working the same nights. Anyone under 16 is not eligible for either paid or volunteer positions.
I would like to set ground rules for your participation. These are non-negotiable. We have more applicants than positions every week. Anyone not complying with these rules will not be asked to return this season. Most of this is for safety and insurance reasons.
- If you sign up for a date and do not show or leave before dismissed you forfeit all future dates
- If you cannot attend on short notice reach out as soon as possible. We do have a good list of applicants, but they will need notice if they are to fill the position.
- No drugs, including mamajuana are permitted on premises
- No alcohol permitted on premises
- Do not show up under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- No touching attendees
- Any customer complaint naming you will result in immediate dismissal
- Any firecrackers or confetti guns must be set off at least 6 feet away from attendees
- No Personal Drama!
Additionally the following items are suggested to improve the experience and flow of the events.
- Show up early to get into costume and makeup
- We will have very few (1 or 2) makeup artists, they will have time slots and you must signup for the time slots or there will not be time for your makeup. All makeup will be completed and done by 7:30.
- We provide all costumes and masks, if you want to wear your own custom it must be approved by me prior to the day you are working. This is a themed event and I control our presentation to comply with that theme.
- The attendees will be sold single shot confetti guns. You are expected to react to being shot.
- No “Boo”, “Rarrr”, or otherwise corny scares. Each scene will be provided suggested wordings in case you need some guidance.
- If you feel you are better suited for a specific scene please let me know. (Scenes will be listed below)
- Each night there is a safety meeting at 7:30 to go over radio usage, fire safety, and any items brought up by actors, you must attend.
- No Personal Drama!
These are the expectations as an actor: (some are repeats from above but worth mentioning again)
- Be professional, courteous, and respectful of attendees and fellow actors
- Stick to themed scripts or adaptations of them
- Treat kids with lesser aggression
- Be more aggressive if taunted more
- Do not touch attendees
- Be creative in how you approach, hide, and scare attendees
- We need 5 star reviews, encourage them by being memorable and creating an enjoyable time
- We have created a family friendly impression and I would like to keep this up. Mild profanity is fine, no sexual profanity and be mindful of your audience
- At the end of each night return your costume neatly folded to the costume hut.
- At the end of Saturday clean up your scene.
- No Personal Drama!
- Have fun!!! Enjoy it yourself and the attendees will enjoy it with you.
